Holy shit, I've been so incredibly busy. My workload at my job has doubled, so it's kept me from hopping on DA for damn near a week (I have 2,000 deviations to dig through... *mind explodes*, you guys have been busy!). Usually every year, I do some freelance work for our city ballet's gala event, but this year I didn't have time for it. Thankfully, they still gave me tickets and a backstage pass despite being unable to work for them, so I was stoked that I was still able to go. Lots of fun meeting dancers from all over the world! Plus, I bought a new Boss suit for the event since I've lost weight and I felt incredible. My anxiety normally should have broken me, but I felt like a new person and walked around with my head held high. Definitely had a fantastic weekend!
Quick update on my gallery: My kisekae gallery has taken a backseat in my priorities since I'm rarely home now to use my save files. I am, however, drawing on my phone when I get the time, so more drawings of my characters are on the way (I'm doing Sera and Quinn doodles right now, and have ideas for a McKenzie doodle). The 12 Facts Meme is still in the works (Reese and Laci are next), and I have stalled on my first comic with Katie and her inventions... that one is killing me. I need to finish it. Soooooooooooon.
Anyway, MEME time.
You can tell a lot about someone by the music they listen to. Hit shuffle on your iPod / Phone / iTunes / Media Player and write down the first five songs that play, then pass this on to 5 people. NO, I tag no one!
1. Lana Del Rey - Gods and Monsters
American Horror Story introduced me to this song about giving into a life of sex, drugs, and fame; fooling herself into thinking this was the life she wanted among the dirty and foul.youtu.be/oD2XV_Ri800
2. Yellow Magic Orchestra - Kai-Koh
Uuuuhhhhh, I don't know what this song is about, I just love the new wave sound. Derp.youtu.be/ms6Td6zWNqg
3. The Roots - Lighthouse
A song about succumbing to society's false expectations for a young black man. Giving into that image of crime and drugs, believing that nobody truly cares about you. The whole album is a work of art, recounting a backwards story of a doomed man's forgettable death to the point of his conception, all about his unfair life sinking into violence.youtu.be/6vP24wNuRXs
4. New Order - True Faith
Hahaha, one of my favorite bands of all time (Bizarre Love Triangle is my everything). This song can be interpreted in many ways, but it's about drug addiction and how it can become all you think about. Pretty cut and dry, lol.youtu.be/zzeNAUOp17c
5. Kenichiro Nishihara and Substantial - Heart
A beautiful song about Substantial's feelings toward modern hip hop. His lyrics explain that he doesn't care about a hard image or making money; he writes and raps about his love for the art of words. Some gorgeous piano work in this track.youtu.be/aNnQkiksv4E
Lots of songs about drugs, but I'm clean, yo.
